International Commission for the Prevention
of Alcoholism & Drug Dependency

The International Commission for the Prevention of Alcoholism and Drug Dependency is a nonsectarian, nonpolitical organization placing the spotlight of science on alcoholism and other drug dependencies. It also seeks to reveal the impact of such dependencies upon the economic, political, social, and religious life of the nation and point up effective preventive actions.

This commission consists of 250 prominent men and women from throughout the world, dedicated to contributing their influence toward the above objective. The number of invited representatives is based on the population as follows:

100,000 to 10 million

1 representative

10 million to 20 million

2 representatives

21 million to 30 million

3 representatives

31 million to 50 million

4 representatives

51 million to 100 million

5 representatives

101 million to 150 million +

6 representatives

All personnel act in an honorary capacity in the spirit of the United Nations for service toward international betterment. Financial support is dependent upon contributions from interested organizations, government agencies, personal donations, registration fees to congresses, institutes and seminars, and the sale of educational materials.
