Warning signs that a person may be a compulsive gambler are similar to those of someone who may have an alcohol or other drug addiction problem:

• bills not being paid

• absence from work or school

• behavior changes

• giving up previous hobbies and pursuits

• missing valuables

• deceptive actions and lying

• increase in alcohol/drug use

• obsession with money

• neglect of personal health

• change in eating habits

• abuse of others, especially family members

• borrowing of money
